Startup programs are executed when a user logon to Windows 8. Depending on requirements, you may want to add or remove startup programs. You might want to launch an activity monitor tool when Windows 8 starts or disable a program to run at startup when no longer needed.
The simplest way to add or remove programs to startup is by using Startup folder which can be easily accessed from explorer in Windows 8 or could be launched using run.
First of all, create a shortcut of the program which you want to launch in start up.
To Add a start up program for Single User in Windows 8
Launch Run utility by pressing Windows Logo Key + R. Type shell:startup

Browse to this location
C:\Users\(User-Name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Drag the shortcut to the Startup folder.
To add a Startup program for All Users in Windows 8
Browse to the following location
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

To remove a program a from Startup, you can simply delete the shortcut from folder.
