Microsoft is gearing up for their next bigger release of Windows. We earlier informed you that a leaked roadmap hints about major release of Windows in 2012. The roadmap shows the codename as Windows 8. Some days ago, Steve Ballmer also talked about the next version of Windows and considers it to be riskiest product bet by Microsoft.
On celebrating first birthday of Windows 7, Dutch Windows Blog commented about Windows 8 releae date in the excitement which according to them is roughly two years after. The translation of the comment is
Microsoft’s Dutch subsidiary posted a blog Sunday that says the company is working on Windows 8 but that the new operating system is not due for about two years.
Once again, the fingers point towards 2012. The comment regarding release date of Windows 8 had been removed later but something is being cooked for sure and will probably be out in 2012.
